About where in San Francisco should I live if I work in San Jose

where in San Francisco should I live if I work in San Jose?
My concern is the length of the commute and how easy it is to get to the highway.

Live in San Jose, it'll make life so much easier for you.

If you work in San Jose, the gas bill driving to and from SF will kill you. Look for a place in San Jose or Milpitas.

You should consider living in the South Bay (greater San Jose area) to avoid the commute. Otherwise consider a place near Caltrain stations so you could take the train for the commute.

If you want to live in San Francisco, you should live near the main Caltrain station (4th Street and King) and take the train. Once you're in San Jose, you can use VTA rail light or bus to get to your place of employment. Although you can drive down either 101 or 280, the traffic and gas costs will be considerable.

i live in San Rafael so I'm only about 10 minutes from San Fransisco. um mm... if you are single or have a BOY FRIEND then you should move the marina it is quite lovely there. i enjoy it , just make sure you don't buy anything to expensive

I'll just jump on the bandwagon here and recommend that you live closer to San Jose. Living in SF, you'd spend four hours a day commuting, which will be costly, both financially and physically. You really won't get to enjoy living in SF.

So, in other words, you are asking us if we know the way to San Jose. hehe. SJ is a very desireable place to live-- good weather, affordable and closer (much closer) to your work place. 50 miles one way is a long way to drive even if you don't take into account the Bay Area traffic. Live in San Jose and visit SF on weekends.

I agree with them....live in San Jose. It will take a minimum 1hr to commute. Could be even longer depending what time of day. Hwy 101 would be horrific during commute hrs.
