Original Joes on South 1st is everybody's first choice. You can also try Maggiano's at Santana Row, but the dining room gets a little loud, so see if you can get a banquet room, assuming there are enough of you.
2 :
You can go to Krung Thai on Winchester.
3 :
Seven on The Alameda near San Jose/Santa Clara border is great for work groups. American-French cuisine. My company took a group there last month.
4 :
Did you try BJ's Restaurant? It's great to have a team dinner. The brew their own beer and waitresses are friendly. They have several locations in San Jose and Cupertino. BJ's Restaurant and Brewhouse (408) 284-4260 925 Blossom Hill Rd San Jose, CA 95123

About please..List of places to work for in San Jose del Cabo / Cabo San Lucas

Please..List of places to work for in San Jose del Cabo / Cabo San Lucas?
Hi I am moving to San Jose del Cabo and was wondering if anybody can give me a heads up on the places where I should send my resume. I am Mexican but was raised in the States for 13 years (so I am 100% Bilingual) then I moved to Mexico city, worked here for a while, but now I am moving to San Jose del Cabo. I am currently studying a Masters in International Business Administration, and have a Bachelors degree in Computer information System (field, which I am really not expecting to work in) My previous job was for HSBC as a Project Manager. I am looking for something related to Administration as this is the field where I have developed most of my knowledge but am open to any other job openings. I really don't know where to start looking into, except hotels (which I would love to work in), but I don 't know the names of the hotels down there. Does anybody have an idea of places where they are hiring people at the moment? or suggestions of places I can send my resume to? All comments are well received. Thanks for reading me out. Peace Out!

Nicolas, estas dos páginas son las mas usadas por empresas de prestigio para búsqueda de empleos, check them out search by State you may find something interesting and in most cases you can send your resume by email. Best of lucks! http://www.occ.com.mx/ http://www.computrabajo.com.mx/bt-ofertas.htm

Hola. You have plenty of options with your status and background. But you are better off to start your search here first, and go around with resumes from site to site rather than mail them. You could see what is available in the local papers, plus craigslist for the baja is becoming a new place to post local jobs. Of course, most of the hotels are chains and hire within to meet their management needs. You may be able to find a management trainee position to start off with, but they also expect you to put in the loyalty time before moving up the ladder. So you may have to take any job just to get your foot in the door. Do you have any connections with HSBC? Also, several of the large chain companies here may be interested in you. Costco, Soriana, Home depot, office max, etc. find it hard to get local qualified people. You could be involved with tourist businesses or golf courses, or you could deal with airport business, exporting/importing, there are several options there. Of course there is also local government, Fonateur. etc.

I think you will most certainly be Underemployed. An old friend of mine (Mexican) whom I had not seen for 15 years was standing at a bus stop and we had a conversation. He was looking for work and I said, you cant find anything?. Sure, there is lots of work but they dont want to pay more than 50 mxp a day..and how much is a chicken? he asked. I am sure you have you reasons for going to SJD but with you credentials you may have a better shot in Cancun. Best of luck

About anyone live in the Evergreen and work in downtown San Jose? What do you think of the commute

Anyone live in the Evergreen and work in downtown San Jose? What do you think of the commute?
My wife and I live near downtown San Jose, where I work. We just had a baby, so we are considering moving to a bigger place in the Evergreen area (near Evergreen Community College). I've heard that the area is quiet and family-friendly, but that traffic is really rough since you have to deal with 101 (I work near the airport). Is anyone in a similar situation? How bad/reasonable is the commute? Is the area nice enough to make the move, or should we look elsewhere? Any other thoughts? Thanks for any info!

It's not horrible. I would say 30-40 minutes each way. I wouldn't move just because, but if you need to, I don't see anything wrong.

About what are some nice parks that require a reservation located in San Jose, California

What are some nice parks that require a reservation located in San Jose, California?
My godson is going to be having a birthday party in a few weeks and I need to know some really good parks in the area. Even areas just outside of San Jose would work i.e. Campbell or Cupertino. Thanks

Hands down, I would recommend Kelly Park. It is a great place for kids and adults. Home of the Happy Hollow Zoo, Japanese Friendship gardens, Beautiful Koi ponds and waterfalls, narrow gauge train, historical buildings, and lots of parkland with picnic tables. Reservations are available for large groups, or you can rent out the hall or the Japanese tea house. During the week you can park for free. So check it out.

Lake Cunningham Park next to raging waters has a reservation with or without a volleyball court. http://www.sjparks.org/faq.asp Call this number to make reservations and learn more about locations in San Jose. (408) 27PARKS (or 408-277-2757).

I love that it has a toddler area that is enclosed, so you don't have to worry about your child running off. And there are bathrooms with toilet paper and paper towels! They've also got great swings and another play structure for older kids. The map on this is incorrect. It's on N. Central, not Almarida."

Look on the net for the Department of Labor for your state. Either that or your school might have it...
2 :
you have to get a workers permit from your school.
3 :
u cant
4 :
I got mine from my school.
5 :
Well first off congrats for getting a job so young! When I got a job at 15 they issued work permits in the school office, so just ask around there. If you aren't in school currently, I'd probably check city hall or something. Oh an also, you're probably actually looking for the work permit application, you have to have your school, your parents, and your employer fill out some basic info, then you turn it in to whoever gave you the application (if you are in school they are usually the one who fills in the school portion of it after you've had parents/ employer do their thing) They usually will have the actual permit for you within a couple days. Also, here is a page that has a copy of the app. http://www.svusd.k12.ca.us/guidance/workpermit.htm click on that first link that says "click here" Good luck!
6 :
work at Paco's burrito stand instead. no age restrictictions.
7 :
You can get a work permit from your high school. Note that your parents must sign as well.

About working in San Jose area, mountain bike club and purchase

Working in San Jose area, mountain bike club and purchase??
So here is an interesting one. I am from the UK and will be in San Jose working until May, and (visa permitting will be moving here next year) I have a little interest in maybe mountain biking, but have never tried and have very little idea about the area, what bike (including type, suspension, just rear, just front) would be good to purchase or where a club maybe to join in with. I also have an interest in kayaking maybe but again, as above!!! Any pointers, web addresses, contacts would be greatfully received! Thanks in advance, Stuart

About moving with family from India to San Jose, CA

Moving with family from India to San Jose, CA?
I am to work at San Jose, CA & would like to get recommendations as where to live with my wife & 2 kids (in Grade 2 & 5). I would be getting $84k per year.

I'd say look on the sf bay craigslist at www.craigslist.com and find SF Bay Area... Most places are good to live like in Milpitas, Cupertino, Santa Clara... a lot of Indians who come here and work live in Milpitas and Santa Clara. Most places are safe to live and have ok schools just stay away from Alviso or East San Jose and in most cases it will be a good neighborhood. Also, dont let your kids wear any solid color of all Blue or Red or they might get stabbed or shot by someone.
2 :
I lived in San Jose for 20 years. The East side is VERY busy, with allot of different nationalities. And if there are gangs around, they tend to be on that side (East) of town. We really enjoyed living in Campbell, on the West side, near Saratoga and Los Gatos. From my years of living there, I would say that's by far, the nicest. Good luck!!
3 :
First, be aware that $84K is NOT as huge a salary as it sounds. Especially in Silicon Valley. However, it is not down near any poverty level as many people experience in the area. Careful planning and budgeting can help you live comfortably and even begin saving money. Next issue is whether or not you wish to live near other Indians living in the area. If so, there are several concentrations of South Asians, including a fairly dense community in and around the East Foothills and the Evergreen neigborhood, as well as another in nearby Fremont, California. But be aware that San Jose is extremely cosmopolitan and you'll find Indians, other South Asians and most other ethnic groups well represented all over the city and surrounding valley. Not only are there many Supermarkets around that specialize in Asian Foods, most grocery stores have Asian food sections, as well is produce. A tour of virtually any elementary school in the city will show most races and groups well represented, so there should be no problem with your young children being accepted. And, if you know kids, even if their English Language skills are not as sharp as one might want, it won't take long for them to adapt and get along with their peers. If you have any savings to bring over, it might be a good time to invest in buying a home, rather than renting, if possible. It's a buyer's market and, as long as you pick wiselly and don't get into a more of a mortgage than you can handle, you should be all right. Apartment living can get pretty uncomfortable, unless you can pay a high rent. But with rents that high, you might as well buy a house if you can swing the loan. Good luck and Welcome.

Cupertino, lots of indians here, and chinese, you'll feel like home here... the schools here in cupertino are top notch.. friendly place
